Behind every great meal, there’s a great chef. And behind every great chef (at least here at Dineamic!) there’s a great team of nutritionists and dietitians. And that’s something super important to us, and it should be to you, too!
Why? Well, we are what we eat. For over 10 years, our team has had one simple mission: to help people live their very best. And that starts with great tasting, nutritious food that makes us healthier, one meal at a time.
As we’ve grown, so too has our range to suit every dietary requirement or lifestyle. Our nutritionists are always hard at work, giving you something delicious to help you power through the day, whether it be vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free or LOW FODMAP.
For thousands of people across Australia - including our wonderful team - Dineamic is now a way of life. So how did it all begin?
MEET KAREN, OUR SPORTS DIETITIAN
Karen is part of the heart and soul of the Dineamic team, our head dietitian and founder. For over 30 years, she’s been persuading athletes that eating better will improve their performance. And for over 30 years...there’s a fair few that should’ve listened more closely!
You’ll be glad to know that Karen is a firm believer in the old adage that the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach. That’s important, because if nutritious food is not also delicious, we’re probably not going to maintain the lifestyle long-term and reap the benefits.
Karen had the realisation that the Dineamic lifestyle had the ability to save athletes time, keep them in great shape, give them energy and improve recovery. And just like Dineamic has improved the lives of many athletes, it’s now passing on those same benefits to thousands of Aussies (whether they’re training for a fun run or just enjoying the benefits of a better life through what they eat).
MEET RACHAEL, OUR TEAM NUTRITIONIST
Rachael carries a dual role as both Dineamic’s Quality Assurance Manager & Team Nutritionist. As a qualified nutritionist, she earned her qualifications from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science followed by a Master of Human Nutrition from Deakin University. After years of working on the frontline, pioneering Dineamic’s relationship with the NDIS and sharing her love of evidenced-based nutrition facts through blogposts, she now works behind the scenes to help create new products, research recipes and food trends whilst ensuring Dineamic delivers the highest quality meals possible.
A day in her work-life will include all things from; monitoring food safety compliance, balancing new recipes against nutritional benchmarks and working closely with the operations team to deliver not only nutritious but the highest quality meals on the market. Rachael is now in her fifth year at Dineamic and has an eye for detail that ensures every meal that leaves our kitchen delivers on everything we stand for.
Outside of work she loves travelling the world to explore different food cultures (pre-covid!), geeking out to new food science and nutrition research and binging on Netflix.
MEET ALICIA, NUTRITIONIST AND FOOD EDUCATION PRO
Alicia is a jack of all trades, and master of many! A qualified nutritionist, Alicia spends her time heavily involved in education, communications and customer support. She also writes our recipe descriptions, social media content, and all the meal descriptions on our product labels!
Alicia completed a bachelor of science (human nutrition, exercise and sport science) at Massey University in Auckland. We’ll have to give the Kiwis some credit on this one (despite how much that hurts!). We’re super lucky to have Alicia onboard.
We had some time to sit down with Alicia and get some insights into her Dineamic experience. So for all of those with a keen interest in nutrition or if you just want to know more about Dineamic, read on.
What first made you interested in nutrition?
When I ate good, I felt good. I grew up playing sports, and wanted to be the healthiest person I could be. I had a natural love for food, cooking, and sport. This led to an interest in sports science and the rest is history.
What are you passionate about when it comes to nutrition?
It’s amazing to learn about your own needs, but being able to apply this to help people to be the best they can be is so rewarding. There’s so much food politics, so giving people the information to make informed choices about their lives is really important to me. I like to get the message out that everyone is different. Don’t compare yourself to others when it comes to food.
What do you like about working at Dineamic?
I love the Dineamic ethos - helping people maintain a long-term diet and lifestyle change. It’s not a fad weight loss diet. It’s healthy and it’s also sustainable. The team is careful to never demonise a food group - we all believe in well-balanced diets. Natural, real, preservative-free, home-style cooking is at the core of all our meals and recipes
What’s a typical day at Dineamic like for you?
Dineamic is a registered NDIS provider and well known by dieticians who send their clients to us. So I spend a lot of time in customer service, providing advice and helping customers create meal plans who have a range of conditions, from irritable bowel syndrome to obesity. I also work closely with our marketing team, writing blogs and maintaining our social media to help educate our customers on nutrition and healthy food choices. We also get to taste-test the meals coming out of the kitchen and provide recommendations back to the chefs!
OH, AND DON'T FORGET TO SAY HELLO TO RENEE & SOPHIE!
They’re quite the Dineamic duo…pun intended! You’ll find Renee and Sophie at our South Yarra cafe. They’re both nutritionists who can make great recommendations depending on your circumstances, and for the record they make a delicious coffee too. Make sure to introduce yourself next time you're in the store.
